Carina Bruwer was born in Cape Town on 15 January 1980. Throughout her high school career, she excelled in musical, academic and cultural activities. At the University of Stellenbosch, concentrating on flute performance, and numerous achievements and awards followed.
She started swimming a few laps of the University gym's pool every few days and end up swimming long distances in the ocean.

De Wet Bruwer, acclaimed pianist and prize-winner of numerous national competitions and sought-after international scholarships, is a graduate of the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London, where he was awarded the Master of Music Degree cum laude in 2007. Working with eminent Russian pedagogue Tatiana Sarkissova and Chamber Music specialist Michael Dussek, he was placed among the top category of finalists studying at this most competitive institution.

To date Maré has had 16 one-man exhibitions of her artworks, throughout South Africa, Namibia and France. She specialises in landscapes, still life studies and portraits on commission.

Randrivier Guesthouse is situated on the farm Randrivier of the Bruwer Family - Fanus (8th generation) & Jeanette, their son Johan (9th Generation) & his wife Rita. These farms are all part of the original farm Zandtrivier, more commonly known as Willemnelsrivier, where the progenitor of the Bruwer family of South Africa the Huguenot Estienne Bruére start farming in 1730.

Besoek aan Blois en Mer - 2005
Na die Bruwer re-unie van 2003 het ʼn paar van ons besluit om te gaan kyk waar Estienne vandaan kom. So kom dit ook dat ons in 2005 na Blois is, om onder andere te gaan kyk na die koetse wat in Chambord kasteel uitgestal word. Daar was ʼn storie dat Estienne van die koetse gebou het.
Dit was wonderlik om in die strate van Blois en Mer te stap en van die geboue en kastele te sien wat in Estienne se tyd alreeds daar was.

Kasteel in Blois wat alreeds van 1429 bestaan. Nie vêr van die kasteel is daar nog fondasies van kerke wat vanaf 1258 dateer.
Mer is ʼn klein plattelandse dorpie met landerye tot in die dorp. Die Katolieke kerk links lyk baie oud en is erg verwaarloos – kon geen datum op sy mure sien nie.Daar is blykbaar nog drie huise in die dorp wat deur Hugenote bewoon was. Ons het in een geslaap wat as ʼn gastehuis gebruik word.

Chambord kasteel en een van die koetse wat ons wou gaan sien. Die koetse is egter eers in 1873 gebou.
